The Stems

The Stems are one of Australia’s most influential garage rock bands, roaring out of Perth in the mid-’80s with a sound that captured the raw spirit of the sixties garage punk, fuzzed-out guitars and timeless power pop. Fronted by Dom Mariani, they built a cult following on the strength of infectious, melody-driven singles and a reputation for electrifying live shows. Though their original run was short-lived, their influence looms large – bridging classic garage rock with the Aussie indie explosion that followed, and cementing their status as enduring cult favourites.
